Responsibilities:
a) Consistent attendance and engagement in discussions, group projects/workshops, and in-class writing.
b) Completion of frequent low-stakes (LS) writing assignments.
c) Two drafts of a 750-1000 entry on a single word related to disability for the “Defining Disability” class digital glossary project, the first being purely textual and the second multimodal with both accompanied by a 250 word self-assessment, and between them a a remediation of the first draft into a standalone multimodal artifact (using Prezi) accompanied by a 250-500 word reflection on the remediation process.
d) Participation in the critical mapping project which will consist of four to five 250-word multimodal annotations of sites around campus, a 750-1000 word expanded review of one site accompanied by a 250 word self-assessment, and finally in a small group the production of a document/digital artifact making some use of the map and aimed at a specific audience.
e) An individual final research project which will consist of a project proposal, a 500-750 word annotated bibliography, a 250-500 word literature review, a 1750-2000 word research text + 250 word self-assessment, an in-class presentation of the research, and a small creative project based on/advertising that research accompanied by a 250-500 word explication of the rhetorical choices involved in the creative production.
f) Digital Portfolio/Website curating all course work accompanied by 750-1000 word cover letting reflecting on your composition experiences over the course of the semester. Among other things this reflective essay might include discussion of your individual revision/remediation experiences as well as reflection on how feedback/experience from one project might have influenced your work on another subsequent project.
