Welcome! This is the website for the section of ENG 101 entitled "This Disabled American Life" taught by Adam P. Newman and running Fall 2013 at Emory University. This site houses not only the syllabus and assignments for the course, but will also serve as the primary medium through which we as a class will showcase both our collaboratively produced projects as well as link out to our individual projects housed on our personal websites. Please feel free to poke around and contact us if you have any inquiries or if there are any accessibility needs that we have not attended to as of yet. To stay in the loop about the various goings on related to the class, follow us on Twitter via the hashtag #DisAmericanLife. Also, if you are interested in the larger presence of Disability Studies @ Emory University, please see the website for the new Disability Studies Initiative.

“Disability is not the story of someone else. It is our story, the story of someone we love, the story of who we are or may become, and it is undoubtedly the story of our nation. It is, quite simply, the American story in all of its complexities.” |
